Scando ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Scando mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

- Account data: name, email address, username, and password when you create an account.
- Profile data: profile photo, bio, climbing experience level, and home gym.
- Climb logs: routes climbed, grades, dates, notes, and photos you choose to upload.
- Session data: scheduled climb sessions and partner activity you share through the app.
- Communications: messages or feedback you send us directly.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: features you use, pages you view, and actions you take in the app.
- Device data: device type, operating system version, and app version.
- Location data: approximate location (city/region) when you search for nearby gyms, only with your permission.
- Crash reports: error logs to help us improve stability.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and provide the Service.
- Display your climb logs, progress, and activity feed to you and your followers.
- Connect you with climbing partners and show you scheduled sessions from people you follow.
- Improve, personalize, and expand the Service.
- Send you transactional emails (account verification, password reset).
- Send product updates and announcements, which you may opt out of at any time.
- Respond to your support requests and communications.
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve performance and user experience.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- With other users: your public profile, climb logs marked public, and scheduled sessions marked public are visible to other Scando users and people you follow.
- Service providers: we use Supabase for database and authentication services. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@joinscando.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified deletion request, except where retention is required by law.

Scando is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
